Capping off Gay Pride month, Cox Communications in partnership with here! Films and Reel Identities: New Orleans Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Film Festival will screen the new gay comedy, “The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Greene,” on Friday, June 30th at 8pm at the Marigny Theatre behind Cowpokes, 1030 Marigny Street. Tickets are $12, with all proceeds benefiting Reel Identities.
Based on the hit underground comic strip, "The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green" centers on Ethan, a 26 year-old professional 'assistant' looking for love in all the wrong places – that is, until he meets and dates Kyle Underhill, a recently 'out' pro baseball player.  Things progress wonderfully until Ethan's ex-boyfriend Leo threatens to sell the house that Ethan lives in, setting into motion a series of deceptions on Ethan's part to keep his house and his relationship with Kyle intact.  By enlisting the help of a 19 year-old real estate assistant who has a romantic agenda of his own, Ethan discovers his web of secrets and lies will not be easily untangled.  The result is a hilarious and endearing portrait of contemporary gay romance. Starring Daniel Letterle (“Camp”), David Monahan, Diego Serrano, Dean Shelton, Meredith Baxter (“Family Ties”), and Shanola Hampton.
This will be the only opportunity to see this film in theatrical release in the New Orleans market - following its nationwide release, the film will play on the here! television network.  here! is available as subscription video on demand in New Orleans on Cox Digital Cable Channel 1 for $6.95 per month.

lezzies on x, scream club, nicky click @ republic TONITE 10pm! [Mar. 20th, 2006|11:00 am]
The New Orleans Lesbian Community

one last reminder about the show tonite:

the time for tonite's show has been pushed back to 10pm (doors 9pm, show 10pm) so as not to conflict with WTUL's Rock On Survival Marathon fundraiser (Jello Biafra) earlier in the night. this way, folks who want to catch both shows will be able to... and girl gang productions certainly supports and encourages everyone else to support WTUL. so consider our show the jello biafra "after party," ok?

it's gonna be off the hook, y'all!

upcoming for girl gang productions... [Mar. 4th, 2006|03:49 pm]
The New Orleans Lesbian Community

hey y'all -

so i just wanted to let folks know that girl gang productions has some stuff coming up that we're involved in, including International Women's Day festivities at Tulane's campus on Wednesday, March 8th, and a kickass show on the 20th of March if you're a fan of queer electro-punk, rap, and techno... (or just looking for a fun, dyke-positive night of music and entertainment).

plus we've started making good use of the calendar feature on our yahoo groups page (which hosts our email list - so if you're not on it already, sign up!!) and are posting not just ggp produced/sponsored events but also other things we endorse, like, or just think would be a good time. (and if you have an event coming up that you think fits the bill, send us an email with the details!)

we're glad to be back in action and hope to get more shows going in the upcoming months... so stay tuned!
